What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Regulatory Counsel to join our Global Regulatory Team based in London, championing regulatory compliance across our products and operations worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory and Compliance Work
    • Maintain regulatory conditions for assigned countries and topics.
    • Analyze regulatory frameworks, monitor and advise on changes that affect Bandwidth’s products and processes.
    • Advise on compliance strategies, risks, and regulatory conditions.
    • Research and draft regulatory documents, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
    • Collaborate with internal parties such as Product, Carrier Relations, Engineering, and Operations on cross‑coverage regulatory topics.
    • Answer internal and external regulatory questions.
    • Liaise with external agencies and industry groups.
    • Review and negotiate supplier agreements that support services in assigned regions.
    • Review public consultations, draft position papers, and coordinate with the Global Policy team.
    • Serve as a source of truth and support for Regulatory Operations, Compliance Operations, and other operational teams.
  • Projects and Go To Market Work
    • Provide timely, comprehensive support to business units on projects with regulatory impact and go‑to‑market initiatives worldwide.
  • Documentation and Administrative Support
    • Create and maintain up‑to‑date regulatory documentation on electronic communications topics and keep regulatory archives current.
    • Ensure timely and accurate regulatory filings in assigned regions.
    • Manage external counsel and ensure appropriate expertise is available when needed.
  • Other
    • Travel expectation: Some travel may be required to collaborate with internal and external parties in different regions.

What You Need

  • Education / Professional Experience
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of work experience in the electronic communications market, preferably on regulatory topics in‑house or within a law office practice.
    • Knowledge of voice, messaging, and numbering regulatory frameworks is a strong plus.
    • Desire to work in an international tech company with colleagues worldwide.
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Working knowledge of voice‑over‑IP technologies and cloud communications.
    • Interest and passion for communications and new technologies.
    • High IT literacy.
    • Interest in leveraging AI tools in daily work.
  • Necessary Skills
    • Fluent in legal and business English; another European language is a strong plus.
    • Fast learner capable of grasping and explaining complex regulatory and technology issues quickly and accurately.
