About Our Company
Clip n Climb within the Metrocentre, Gateshead is part of the bigger global brand of Bandai Namco, the lead creators in the world of entertainment. Branching out from its staple design of Funscape sites scattered across the UK, they opened Clip n Climb in 2019. The first in its unique location, fish bowled in the middle of the Metrocentre mall, we have 360-degree views over the 2 floors. 23 Climbing spots, 24ft walls, a state-of-the-art interactive Valo climbing wall and a 24ft Vertical Drop Slide. We also have a small café area for those preferring a relaxed coffee and cake, leaving the heights to the daring. Open 364 days a year, our team has shown themselves and proved to everyone how dedicated and motivated they are to our customers.
Job Role & Responsibilities
- We have quickly established our reputation as being one of the best.
- Our dedicated team are finely hand-picked based on personal attributes and skills, work ethic, morale and active motivation.
- We work closely with anxious and nervous climbers to encourage and engage them to achieve their goals.
- The Beginners quickly become The Confident on our site coached by our friendly instructors.
- All of the team are fully trained in all areas, right up to instructor level.
- Performing rescues at height.
- Cleaning and maintaining the equipment using the belay ropes.
- Ensuring that everyone who enters the climbing arena is fully briefed and trained on what to do while in for their session.
- Maintaining a safe but always fun environment for all ages while in the arena.
- Upholding and following the usual business policies and regulations.
- Interacting and assisting with customers.
- Attending ongoing staff training and development opportunities wherever possible.
- Understanding and supporting reception duties.
- Supporting café duties when required.
Due to the Health and Safety and nature of the role, all applicants must be over the age of 18 years. Based inside the Metrocentre, we benefit from good public transport for ease of travel, in addition, our opening times mean you will never finish too late or start too early to struggle with transport. As with most businesses in the leisure and hospitality industry, we do get busier periods; weekends, bank holidays and school holidays being the main times, therefore it requires our team to be more flexible and be able to work these peak times for us.
