About the role

This is an exciting career move that will allow you to assist with FF&E of high-end residential projects in the UK and abroad to support the design direction of the Project Leader. You will have a positive and professional attitude at all times towards clients, suppliers and the wider design team. You will have a meticulous eye for design and detail, evident in your well put together portfolio and the ability to assist others with documenting. Using AutoCAD is an advantage but not essential as further training can be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with concept designs with Senior Interior Designers, Associate and/or Design Directors
  • Assist with presenting to clients
  • Assist in preparing design development presentations i.e. furniture selection presentations, furniture layout plans, decorative lighting plans and joinery detailing
  • Assist in preparing FF&E tender documentation packages including drawings, schedules and specifications (RIBA Stage 4)
  • Develop an understanding of the procurement process, including storage, logistics, delivery and installation, together with the ability to carry out procurement tasks with the assistance of a procurement manager and/or Senior FF&E Designer
  • Assist in liaising with clients, taking meeting minutes and any project related filing (i.e., project correspondence)
  • Liaise with suppliers and consultants to review and approve shop drawings

About you

You will have previous experience of working within a collaborative, creative and resourceful team. You will have experience in the design and construction of interior design and FF&E projects, ideally in high-end residential and/or hospitality sectors.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • 1-3 years' experience (or equivalent) working in the Interior Design and/or Architecture industry
  • Knowledge of UK based suppliers
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture
  • Experience as a Junior Interior Designer ideally in the FF&E sector
  • High End Residential or Hospitality experience highly regarded
  • Demonstrate exceptional skills in contributing to concept design and design development stages
  • Ability to deal with suppliers, consultants and the wider design team; assistance provided from others if required.
  • Good understanding of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; SketchUp and 3D Studio Max an advantage
  • Good understanding of suppliers, materials, fabrics, sanitaryware, lighting and hardware specifications
