This is an exciting opportunity to join the Regulatory Engagement and Reporting team in a leadership role at the heart of Compliance. As Compliance and Reporting Manager, you'll be responsible for shaping key compliance activities, including SMCR oversight, regulatory reporting, horizon scanning and regulatory change management. You'll act as a subject matter expert, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure regulatory obligations are met and compliance risks are effectively managed.

You'll have the opportunity to influence business decisions, provide strategic insight on emerging regulatory developments and play a key role in maintaining a strong compliance framework. Leading a team and collaborating with colleagues across Risk, Legal, HR and Compliance, you'll help ensure the organisation remains compliant while delivering positive business outcomes.

Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.

Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the subject matter expert for general compliance, regulatory reporting and horizon scanning activities.
  • Leading the oversight and delivery of SMCR compliance processes, ensuring governance records are maintained and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Developing and maintaining an effective horizon scanning framework to identify and assess emerging regulatory changes.
  • Managing regulatory change activity, ensuring changes are identified, assessed, tracked and implemented effectively.
  • Coordinating the preparation and submission of regular and ad hoc regulatory reports, ensuring appropriate governance and approvals are in place.
  • Producing clear, insightful management information and reporting for senior management, committees and governance forums.
  • Supporting responses to regulatory requests, reviews, consultations and investigations.
  • Maintaining compliance risk profiles, identifying emerging risks and ensuring effective mitigation activities are in place.
  • Overseeing assigned compliance controls, ensuring testing, evidence and escalation activities are completed appropriately.
  • Building strong relationships with regulators, industry bodies and internal stakeholders to support effective regulatory engagement.
  • Managing and developing reporting frameworks and MI to continually improve regulatory and business insight.
  • Leading and developing team capability while promoting a strong culture of compliance and risk awareness.

What we're looking for:

  • Significant experience within a Compliance, Risk or Regulatory environment.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, SMCR requirements, regulatory reporting obligations and compliance risk management.
  • Experience in regulatory change management, horizon scanning and regulatory engagement activities.
  • Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead, coach and develop others.
  • A compliance qualification or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex regulatory issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs within demanding deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Experience producing regulatory reporting, management information and governance reporting for senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the motor finance sector would be advantageous.
