WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Platform Engineer will be instrumental in both individual contributions and supporting team efforts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet our global business needs.
- Design, develop and support robust, scalable, and resilient cloud-native systems using microservice architecture principles to support international deployment.
- Drive the enhancement and improvements of our platform's infrastructure, focusing on automation, deployment, and monitoring processes to improve performance and reliability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers, promoting a culture of learning and knowledge exchange within the team.
- Act as a technical lead on projects, ensuring best practices and engineering excellence are maintained.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine platform requirements, translating complex business needs into practical technical solutions.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of high-impact production issues, ensuring systems are optimised and performant.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, including CI/CD, automated testing, and security measures.
- Engage in strategic discussions to help shape the platform's future direction and architecture, serving as a subject expert in platform engineering.
- Collaborate with our security expert to bring proactive security measures and practices into the development life cycle.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Extensive experience in platform engineering, particularly within cloud-native environments and utilising microservice architectures.
- Advanced knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform.
- Great knowledge and experience with orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge in networking, load balancing, and secure cloud practices.
- Proven track record in designing and managing scalable, high-availability systems.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of managing CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficient with modern development and infrastructure automation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of debugging and optimizing complex distributed systems.
- Effective communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
