THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

The T & O Office is looking for a Business Analyst based out of Milton Keynes. This role is accountable for executing financial control, reporting and analytical activities within a business area, ensuring alignment with wider strategic and financial objectives. You will help strengthen cost management, improve data integrity and support better decision-making by delivering accurate reporting, insightful analysis and effective financial governance. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to budgeting and forecasting cycles, cost monitoring, reconciliations and performance reporting, while identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.

  • Producing and analysing financial reports, dashboards and variance analysis to support management oversight and decision-making.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities by consolidating inputs, tracking assumptions and highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Monitoring and reconciling costs, accruals, purchase orders and invoices to ensure financial data is accurate, complete and timely.
  • Preparing governance and performance reporting, ensuring consistency of information across systems and stakeholders.
  • Identifying data inconsistencies and financial issues, investigating root causes and supporting resolution in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Contributing to process improvement and efficiency initiatives through analytical insight, controls and continuous review of reporting processes.
  • Ensuring accurate capacity planning and alignment of Workforce Strategy recommendations.

Professional Experience:

  • Experience in financial analysis, reporting, business support or a similar analytical role, ideally within a corporate or financial services environment (Required)
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, reconciliations or financial control activities (Required)
  • Experience in process improvement, dashboard reporting or working with large datasets in a fast-paced environment (Preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience (Required)
  • Good academic foundation in financial principles, analytical methods or business management (Required)
  • Progress towards or interest in a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent (Preferred)

Languages:

  • Professional working proficiency in English, both written and verbal (Required)
  • Ability to communicate financial and analytical information clearly to a broad range of stakeholders in English (Required)
  • Additional European language skills would be advantageous in a multi-country environment (Preferred)

Hard Skills:

  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modelling and reconciliation of large datasets (Required)
  • Solid knowledge of financial concepts, including P&L, budgeting, forecasting, accruals, cost allocations and variance analysis (Required)
  • Working knowledge of financial systems, reporting tools and data extraction techniques (Preferred)

Soft Skills:

  • Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and data accuracy (Required)
  • Excellent planning, organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables (Required)

Salary Range: £35,452.00 - £53,178.00 per annum (depending on experience)

This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.

£500 annual cash allowance to spend on our great range of benefits. 27 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 28 days after 5 years service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.

Voluntary healthcare benefits at discounted rates. Including: medical insurance, dental insurance, and health assessments.

We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.

Protection for you and your family, with company-funded death-in-service benefit and income protection insurance, and the option to take advantage of discounted rates for additional life assurance and critical illness cover.
