The Global Transaction Banking business provides tailored banking solutions to some of the biggest and most demanding clients in the world and is responsible for working capital financing and risk mitigation solutions (receivables, payables and inventory solutions) in addition to trade financing instruments (guarantees, LCs), asset finance solutions (export finance/leasing) and cash management solutions. In this challenging role, you’ll support to showcase a vision on how Santander’s Trade & Working Capital solutions can support our clients to achieve their strategic goals.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Building sector expertise and analysing trends on the relevant sector in relation with the Santander’s Trade & Working Capital solutions
  • Attending client meetings to share the Santander vision on how to support the client in achieving its strategic goals
  • Supporting clients and prospects on how they can implement Trade Finance and Working Capital solutions and the impact of such solutions on key metrics
  • Supporting the preparation of marketing materials, analytical reports and presentations to aid client discussions
  • Helping deliver, in collaboration with senior sales team, an income target on a pre-agreed portfolio of clients grouped by sector, ensuring quantum and quality of results
  • Cross-selling other GTB products and introducing the appropriate counterparty, as and when the opportunity arises
  • Developing commercial plans, business strategies, risk presentations and similar across the portfolio
  • Following up on transactions to deliver new opportunities and revenue
  • Monitoring performance of the business and the evolution of the pipeline, reporting performance as required
  • Coordinating with the risk department on specific transactions, ensuring risk appetite is aligned with commercial plans for the client

What you’ll bring: These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • Previous experience in the financial service industry, ideally in a sales role
  • Broad understanding of the GTB product portfolio
  • Proactive approach towards working independently and in teams
  • Proven ability to liaise with other areas of the bank, namely Legal, Risk, Middle Office and global product teams for structured transactions
  • Degree level or equivalent level qualification
  • Well-developed selling and negotiation skills
  • Excellent planning, organisation and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to marketing and sales with an ability to place the client at the centre of the process

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Relevant experience in supporting a successful track record in generation of opportunities with regards to Trade Finance
  • Proven track record in supporting the origination and structuring of: Supply Chain, Inventory Financing & Receivables Financing
  • Deep knowledge on Trade finance (Rec. Discounting, Supply Chain Fin, Doc Trade & Structured Trade finance)

This role is based at our offices in Triton Square, London located within easy walking distance from Warren Street and Euston.

How we’ll reward you. As well as a salary, we offer a wide range of benefits that you can choose from and tailor to your needs. Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus. We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer. 27 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 28 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
