SCIB is looking for a Trade & Working Capital Solutions originator dedicated to the Middle East region, based out of London. We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. As a Trade originator, you will be responsible for corporate customers in the Middle East and the related P&L in the Trade & Working Capital product domain. Focus countries are UAE and Qatar.
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Originate new Trade & Working Capital business through regular client calling, by developing key relationships and by overseeing junior staff in accelerating and maintaining revenues already in the portfolio.
- Frequent travel is a requirement of the role, primarily to UAE and Qatar, for client and partner engagement.
- Coordinate and align on business requests, commercial plans, financial analyses, client/transaction pitches, working alongside the relationship management team, as well as other internal stakeholders (Product, Private Debt Mobilisation, Compliance, Legal, IT, Operations, etc.) to provide a best-in-class service and seamless end to end origination and execution.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of key trends across core sectors together with potential applications of our working capital solutions in order to position and facilitate cross-selling opportunities for Santander.
- Deliver client presentations and actively drive sales and coverage initiatives. Manage client journey from sales through implementation, and act as escalation point of contact internally and externally.
- Manage transactions through the internal approval and execution process, considering the bank’s strategic, profitability and risk requirements.
- Adherence to internal processes and governance to ensure control and transparency over sales activity.
- Manage, teach and develop junior staff and support hiring and interviewing.
The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential for success in this role:
- Strong experience in Banking and or Trade & Working Capital solutions.
- Customer facing and or sales experience, in direct contact with clients in the UAE, Qatar and the Middle East region desirable.
- The candidate should demonstrate expertise in Traditional Trade Finance, Structured Trade and Working Capital solutions, together with Middle East market knowledge.
- B.A. in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent ideal, or other university and business school qualifications, such as finance, law, engineering, math, physics, or economics, as examples.
- Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
This role is based in our Triton Square office in London, conveniently located within walking distance from Euston Station and Warren Street Station.
