As part of Santander’s Institutional Sales team, the Vice President will play a key role in driving the distribution of Emerging Markets Fixed Income and FX products, with a particular focus on LATAM and CE4 markets. The role involves close engagement with UK-based institutional investors, delivering differentiated market insight, tailored trading solutions, and consistent revenue generation.
Santander is a recognised leader in the region, having been awarded Best LATAM FX Bank for three consecutive years. The successful candidate will contribute to strengthening Santander’s franchise by deepening client relationships, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and partnering closely with Trading, Research, and other internal stakeholders.
Key activities- Actively originate and distribute Emerging Markets Fixed Income, FX, and Credit solutions to UK-based institutional clients, including Real Money investors and Hedge Funds.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with Financial Institution clients through regular, value-added market dialogue.
- Provide high-quality macroeconomic analysis and market intelligence, translating global and regional trends into actionable trading ideas.
- Partner closely with EM Trading and Research to deliver integrated, client-focused solutions across asset classes.
- Support business development initiatives, including account onboarding, client coverage planning, and expansion of the client franchise.
- Oversee trade execution, booking, and issue resolution to ensure a high standard of client service and operational excellence.
- Contribute to revenue reporting, pipeline management, and performance analysis.
- Act as a role model for Santander’s culture of being Simple, Personal, and Fair, both internally and externally.
- Both on desk and formal training will be provided.
- Solid understanding of Emerging Markets Fixed Income and FX markets, with a strong interest in global macroeconomics.
- Proven ability to communicate complex market themes clearly and effectively to institutional investors.
- Strong commercial mindset, with experience supporting or driving client revenue generation.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective collaboration across Sales, Trading, Research, and Operations.
- Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse data and support reporting and decision-making.
- Experience in a sales, client-facing, or markets-related role within financial services.
- Educated to degree level, ideally in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- FCA-certified (or willingness to complete certification), with CISI Regulatory and Securities & Derivatives modules preferred.
This role is based in our Triton Square office in London, conveniently located within walking distance from Euston Station and Warren Street Station.
