Key activities

  • Work within the Corporate Finance Cohort part of European Banking and Corporate Finance team (BCF) to support the management and development of global client relationships across sectors.
  • Contribute to delivering growth and financial objectives of BCF, via origination and execution of Corporate Finance business opportunities.
  • Driving the execution of transactions and development of client materials, typically in conjunction with other team members and product teams.
  • Unless otherwise directed and agreed by the Equity Private Capital Markets (“EPCM”) team, focus exclusively on growing the EPCM franchise led globally by Myles Evanson.
  • Provide full support to origination and execution of EPCM mandates.
  • Under primary supervision of the EPCM bankers, as well as secondary supervision of Sector, Sponsor and M&A bankers, support the development of a deep understanding of clients' changing needs, and partner with colleagues across the bank to provide relevant solutions.
  • Success requires a good understanding of Santander's Corporate and Investment Banking product suite, and diverse geographical spread to meet the needs of the client base.
  • At all times adhering to personal, Santander and regulatory risk, compliance and governance responsibilities.
  • Assisting in the development of deep and productive client relationships, the role will involve:
  • Assisting in the development of strategic ideas and content to originate investment banking business, with a priority focus on EPCM businesses, but as may be directed by the EPCM team from time to time, offer broader support to M&A, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, acquisition finance and leverage finance transactions.
  • Contributing to the execution of transactions and development of client materials, typically in conjunction with Associates / VPs and product teams.
  • Developing financial analysis, accounting, financial modelling, valuation, and other analytical skills.
  • Preparing for client meetings, and where appropriate participating.
  • Corporate and credit risk analysis, in relation to Corporate Finance transactions.
  • Building and maintaining productive internal networks.
  • Undertaking extra-curricular activities to assist the senior management in the running of the BCF business.
  • Participating in training and own personal development.

What we’re looking for

  • Relevant experience in an investment banking division and / or a reputable financial institution.
  • Experience in executing corporate finance transactions and managing client relationships.
  • Financial modelling and valuation skills desirable.
  • Other linguistic capabilities desirable.

  • This role is based in our Triton Square office in London, conveniently located within walking distance from Euston Station and Warren Street Station.
