Job Summary: Assistant Company Secretary - fixed term (12 months) - Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. Provide governance support to Santander UK governance bodies and the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality governance advisory support to the Santander UK governance bodies/subsidiaries and the business as required.
- Advise on corporate and internal governance issues such as Listing rules, DTRs, MAR, UK Corporate Governance Code.
- Contribute to the annual report and financial statements programme and to new business/legislative developments and projects.
- Work with senior management, board members and colleagues across the business and wider Santander Group, while learning about governance and business across the group.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified as a Chartered Secretary, Lawyer, or hold a relevant professional qualification, or possess appropriate level and length of work experience.
- Extensive company secretarial and corporate governance experience gained within a listed company or financial services company.
- Good working knowledge of key sections of Companies Act 2006, the Corporate Governance Code, PRA/FCA governance.
- Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally financial services.
- Effective organisational, planning and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with confidence to present to senior executives and board members.
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline.
- Qualified member of a recognised professional body (e.g., CGI or equivalent).
