Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) is our global division supporting some of the world's most complex and sophisticated corporate and institutional clients, delivering tailored solutions and value-added wholesale products to meet their evolving needs.

SCIB is looking for a Trade & Working Capital Solutions originator dedicated to the Middle East region, based out of London. We're shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. As a Trade originator, you will be responsible for corporate customers in the Middle East and the related P&L in the Trade & Working Capital product domain. Focus countries are UAE and Qatar.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Originate new Trade & Working Capital business through regular client calling, by developing key relationships and by overseeing junior staff in accelerating and maintaining revenues already in the portfolio. The client portfolio will be defined by Santander's existing strategic SCIB client portfolio, as well as Trade only originated clients.
  • Frequent travel is a requirement of the role, primarily to UAE and Qatar, for client and partner engagement.
  • Coordinate and align on business requests, commercial plans, financial analyses, client/transaction pitches, working alongside the relationship management team, as well as other internal stakeholders (Product, Private Debt Mobilisation, Compliance, Legal, IT, Operations, etc.) to provide a best-in-class service and seamless end to end origination and execution.
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of key trends across core sectors together with potential applications of our working capital solutions in order to position and facilitate cross-selling opportunities for Santander.
  • Deliver client presentations and actively drive sales and coverage initiatives. Manage client journey from sales through implementation, and act as escalation point of contact internally and externally.
  • Manage transactions through the internal approval and execution process.
