The Banking & Corporate Finance team’s main objective is to manage and support the bank’s SCIB client base, in connection with all Santander banking products. This is a commercial, client-facing role focused on business development, relationship management, revenue growth, and cross-border coordination for multinational corporate clients across the Consumer, Retail and Healthcare sectors. You’ll develop client relationships and deliver global and local business plans, through management of the client’s portfolio. This role requires proactivity and a solid understanding of the product suite, as well as strong collaborative skills and the desire to travel.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Managing and growing relationships with a portfolio of leading UK, Ireland and Nordic multinational clients, delivering tailored banking and financing solutions
  • Identifying and executing new business opportunities across Transactional Banking, Cash Management, Trade Finance and Foreign Exchange products to drive revenue growth
  • Conducting client meetings, including international travel
  • Managing sales pipeline and delivering agreed budgeted growth of the portfolio
  • Supporting credit reviews and presenting to internal committees
  • Producing client presentations and pitchbooks
  • Providing management information and reporting

  • Previous experience in a similar role focusing on Consumer, Retail & Healthcare clients
  • Broad experience in Corporate Finance, GTB, FS&A, RSG and DCM
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, modelling skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with specific ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity
  • Ability to comfortably interact with people in a professional and mature manner
  • High levels of attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness, ensuring quality of client deliverables
  • Excellent technology skills with superior Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, and ability to quickly learn new software applications
  • Creativity, problem solving skills, flexibility in approach and the ability to work with members of multiple product groups at the same time
  • Ability to comfortably interact and present in a professional manner
  • Ability to develop logical and well-reasoned arguments to influence and motivate others

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Fluency in other European languages such as Spanish or Portuguese
  • A degree, or equivalent, in a numerical discipline such as Economics or Finance

How we’ll reward you. Your contribution matters, and it’s recognised. You can expect a fair, competitive reward package that reflects the impact you create and the value you deliver. As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus. We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer. 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year. Company funded individual private medical insurance. Voluntary healthcare benefits at discounted rates such as private medical insurance for your family, dental insurance, and health assessments. Protection for you and your family, with company-funded death-in-service benefit and income protection insurance, and the option to take advantage of discounted rates for additional life assurance and critical illness cover.
