Bank Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Banbury

Overview

A fantastic and exiting opportunity has arisen within Banbury Cross Health Centre for a committed, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the team.

As a General Practice Advanced Practitioner, you will work as part of a clinical team with GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Mental Health Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists and Healthcare Assistants across practices in the PCN.

The post holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to the patients of Banbury Cross Health Centre, diagnosing and prescribing treatments and medication while working within defined procedures and protocols as laid down by the GPs.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, and supporting health promotion and prevention initiatives.
• Work as part of the on-the-day acute care team, managing presentations of acute illness with the support of the duty GP.
• Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care and treatment for a wide range of conditions.
• Actively engage with patients to promote healthy lifestyles, facilitate referrals to community and specialist services, and deliver integrated care within defined pathways.
• Collaborate with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care and provide enhanced clinical advice to internal and external stakeholders, including ambulance services and district nurses.
• Participate in a structured development program, progressing towards advanced qualifications such as a Level 7 (Masters) and engage in reflective practice and continuous professional development.
• Support the Practice administrative workload and contribute to clinical audits, risk assessments and service evaluations, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

Experience

• Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proven clinical decision-making skills for both acute and chronic conditions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively across organisational boundaries.
• Experience managing minor illness.
• Experience working in primary care or similar settings.
• Ability to assess and manage paediatric patients.
• Compassionate and patient-centred approach.
• Proactive problem solver with excellent time management skills.
• Resilient under pressure and adaptable to dynamic work environments.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with the NMC.
• Non-Medical Prescriber (V300).
• L7 Minor illness and/or advanced history taking module.
• Commitment to completing advanced qualifications, including L7 Masters.
