Role Overview
Banana Moon is a growing UK childcare franchise with nurseries across the country and an ambitious plan to expand. We’re looking for a hands-on, commercially minded Head of Marketing to lead our marketing function — someone who can develop the strategy, build the campaigns, and equip our franchisees to win families in their local communities. This is a standalone role within our Franchise Operations team, reporting to the Franchise Operations Director and connecting into the wider US-based TLE marketing group. You’ll work with significant autonomy and have direct impact on enquiry volumes, centre occupancy, and network growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing plans and campaigns designed to generate enquiries and increase enrolment across the franchise network, using a mix of digital, local, and community channels.
- Manage the Banana Moon brand identity across all marketing activity, ensuring consistent messaging, visual standards, and tone across the network.
- Create practical, ready-to-use marketing toolkits and local activation plans that franchisees can implement at centre level to drive enquiries and community engagement.
- Support new centre openings with tailored launch marketing plans, and provide targeted marketing support to underperforming centres to improve enrolment.
- Optimise the parent enquiry journey from first touchpoint through to enrolment, working with the Franchise Operations team to strengthen follow-up processes and conversion.
- Deliver marketing guidance and training to franchisees and centre managers, building their confidence and capability in local marketing activity.
- Develop strategies to improve family retention, increase referrals, and strengthen parent engagement across the network.
- Develop and maintain recruitment marketing assets and campaigns that support centre hiring, owning Banana Moon's employer presence across Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and the company careers page to attract quality candidates year-round in line with the seasonal demands of the business.
- Track and report on marketing performance – including enquiry volumes, conversion rates, enrolment trends, and campaign ROI – using data to continuously improve activity and resource allocation.
- Contribute to franchise development initiatives, supporting the recruitment of new franchisees and the growth of the Banana Moon network.
- Develop and execute local marketing activity that drives child-level enquiries and enrolment across existing centres.
- Collaborate with the US-based marketing team to share best practice, align on brand strategy, and leverage group-wide resources where appropriate.
- Report to the Franchise Operations Director on marketing activity, performance, and priorities across the network.
Experience
- 5+ years in marketing working within a franchise or multi-unit organisation – required
- 3+ years owning and executing campaigns or marketing plans end-to-end.
- Experience working in a franchise, multi-unit, or licensed network is required
- Proven track record of multi-channel campaigns that generate measurable enquiry and growth results, ideally in a consumer-facing or family-focused brand.
- Natural ability to enable non-marketing people to execute local marketing matters just as much.
- Comfortable with brand management across multiple touchpoints or locations.
- Data-savvy: able to set KPIs, read the numbers, and make clear recommendations.
Digital & Technical
- Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram) — hands-on, able to build, run, and optimise campaigns independently.
- SEO and Google Analytics (GA4) — proficient, not just familiar.
- CRM and email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, HubSpot, Klaviyo, or similar).
- Familiarity with local listings/reputation tools such as Yext or Birdeye is desirable.
You’ll Bring
- Self-directed and well-organised — you manage your workload and hit your deadlines without needing to be managed.
- A clear, confident communicator who can translate marketing into plain language for franchisees, centre managers, and senior leaders.
- Commercial awareness: You think about occupancy and revenue, not just click-through rates.
