As a Housekeeper at Banana Moon Hatton Day Nursery, you will play an essential role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and families. Your dedication to cleanliness and hygiene will contribute significantly to maintaining a nurturing space where children can thrive. We are looking for 16 hours per week, flexible to suit you as well as us.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep all nursery areas, including main rooms and common areas, clean and tidy.
- Ensure high standards of hygiene in washrooms and nappy changing areas are consistently upheld.
- Perform laundry duties, including washing and managing bedding and children's clothing as required.
- Assist with meal preparation and cleaning of dishes and kitchen areas during meal times.
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and report when replenishments are needed.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for children and staff.
- Collaborate with nursery staff to support the overall functioning and cleanliness of the nursery.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Previous experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role, ideally within a childcare or educational setting.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning (knowledge of COSHH is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
