Overview

Banana Moon Day Nurseries is seeking a motivated and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to join our vibrant team. As Deputy Manager, you will support the Nursery Manager in all aspects of running the nursery, enhancing the experiences of children in our care while ensuring high standards of safeguarding and welfare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily management of the nursery, ensuring the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Support the recruitment, training, and development of nursery staff, fostering a positive workplace culture
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and families, maintaining open lines of communication regarding children\”s progress
  • Ensure a safe and stimulating environment for children, prioritizing health and safety protocols at all times
  • Observe and assess children\”s development and implement appropriate learning activities
  • Contribute to maintaining high staff-to-child ratios and ensuring compliance with nursery policies and procedures

The ideal candidate will

Possess a Level 3 qualification or higher in Early Years Education or a related field. You should have a solid understanding of early years pedagogy, along with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and education. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential to effectively motivate and manage the nursery team.

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a nursery setting
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices
  • Ability to effectively lead, inspire, and support a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • DBS check and relevant safeguarding training
  • Passion for promoting children\”s development and learning
