Responsibilities
- Planning diverse menus that cater to the nutritional needs of young children
- Preparing and cooking meals for up to 50 children daily, ensuring meals are wholesome and appetizing
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen in compliance with food safety regulations
- Collaborating with nursery staff to accommodate dietary requirements and allergies
- Engaging children in cooking activities to enhance their understanding and enjoyment of food
- Managing kitchen supplies, including food ordering and inventory control
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in a cooking role, preferably in a nursery or care setting
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
- Creativity and passion for preparing nourishing meals for children
- Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage kitchen operations
- A valid Food Hygiene certificate and the ability to pass an enhanced DBS check
