About the Role
As Nursery Manager, you will work closely with the Area Manager and Director while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nursery. You will be a confident, proactive decision-maker, balancing the financial and reputational responsibilities of the nursery with the needs of children and families. Your mission will be to ensure seamless operational management of the nursery facilities and staff, delivering a top-quality, well-balanced educational and caring environment at all times. Embracing Banana Moon policies and procedures, you'll consistently meet legislative requirements and follow an enriching education curriculum, achieving the highest possible inspection grading.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a passionate team of early years professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Oversee all nursery operations, including staffing, financial management, health and safety, and curriculum delivery.
- Ensure the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding for all children.
- Maintain compliance with all statutory requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive nursery environment where children can learn, play, and flourish.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, responding to their needs and feedback.
- Promote the nursery within the local community to support occupancy and enhance reputation.
- Drive continuous improvement, achieving outstanding inspection outcomes and exceeding quality standards.
We are seeking candidates with a strong background in early years education, demonstrating both expertise and leadership.
Ideal candidates will have:
- A full and relevant early years qualification to a minimum of Level 3 or higher, as defined by the Department for Education on the Early Years Qualifications List.
- GCSE Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent).
- Enhanced DBS disclosure within the child workforce sector, registered on the update service.
- Paediatric 12-hour First Aid certificate.
- Relevant safeguarding training and qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years' post-qualifying experience in early years education.
- At least 2 years' management experience in a nursery or similar setting.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Nursery Manager or in a senior leadership role within early years education.
- Strong knowledge of early years frameworks, safeguarding, and legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, staffing, and operational responsibilities effectively.
