Banana Moon Tunbridge Wells is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Nursery Cook. This is an exciting opportunity to join a happy nursery where we focus on encouraging children to be children, learning through fun and engaging play. You will be working with a dedicated team in a caring, family friendly, characterful and stimulating environment which is inviting to children, parents and staff.
As an early years employee you will benefit from Banana Moon brand training and a programme of continuous professional development supported by our head office quality and improvement team.
Job Purpose: To ensure the preparation of a balanced, healthy nutritious and tasty diet for children, following the specifications set in Banana Moon seasonal recipes. Adhering to the Policies & Procedures of Banana Moon Day Nursery and in compliance with the Environmental Health-Food Safety, Health and Safety guidelines to contribute to ensuring highest possible Ofsted grading.
Qualifications and experience required
- Essential:
- Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2
- Experience of implementing Health and Safety systems and hygienic practice
- Knowledge & understanding of religious and cultural preferences and dietary choices of children/families
- Knowledge & understanding of allergens
- DBS enhanced disclosure within the child workforce sector
- First Aid certificate
- Experience of working within a commercial kitchen environment
- Catering Qualifications
- Experience of implementing allergy management systems
- Experience of managing costs and wastage to run a financially astute menu
- Past experience within the early years sector with an early years qualification
