Bamford Contract Services are currently recruiting for an experienced Shopfitter / Retail Furniture Installer to join a busy nationwide installation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Shopfitter, Retail Installer, Furniture Installer, Joiner or Shop Fitter who is looking for regular nationwide work, good rates and the opportunity to work on large retail installation projects.
The work takes place at night after retail stores have closed, with travel across the UK. You will be part of a small installation team carrying out the installation and assembly of reception desks, retail furniture and other shopfitting fixtures.
THE ROLE:
- Installing and assembling retail furniture, reception desks and shopfitting fixtures
- Working on installation projects within large retail stores nationwide
- Working as part of a team alongside an in-house member of staff
- Night shifts, generally Monday to Thursday
- Typical shifts of 8–12 hours per night, depending on the installation and location
- Travelling nationwide to different retail stores
- Travel time paid, including travel between stores
- Working away from home when required
- Accommodation/digs provided
- Evening meal and breakfast provided when staying away
- Ensuring all installations are completed safely, accurately and to a high standard
- Keeping work areas clean and tidy
- Following site instructions and health & safety procedures
- Working professionally around store staff, customers and other contractors
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Previous experience as a Shopfitter, Retail Installer, Furniture Installer, Joiner or similar
- Experience assembling and installing furniture, fixtures or retail units
- Good practical and problem-solving skills
- Confidence using hand and power tools
- Good attention to detail
- A CSCS card
- Valid Driving Licence - maximum 6 points
- Good communication and customer service skills
- A reliable and professional approach to work
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work nights
- Willingness to travel nationwide
- Willingness to stay away from home during the working week when required
- Relevant retail, shopfitting, joinery, construction or site experience would be advantageous.
