Housing Standards Officer Location: Rochdale Salary: £20 per hour Contract Type: 6-Month Temporary Contract (Hybrid Working)  We are currently recruiting on behalf of a local organisation for a skilled and motivated Housing Standards Officer to join their team on a 6-month temporary contract. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in maintaining housing standards across the borough, working on various housing initiatives, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Housing Standards Officer Key Responsibilities: Undertake property surveys using the Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS). Implement housing standards policies, supporting both proactive and reactive responses to private tenants under the Housing Act 2004. Assist in the Council’s HMO Licensing Scheme, Landlord Accreditation Scheme, and Empty Property Strategy. Provide advice to landlords, tenants, and property owners on compliance with housing legislation. Liaise with enforcement agencies and contribute to effective partnership working. Assist in preparing reports, statutory notices, and investigations under the Police & Criminal Evidence Act (PACE). Represent RMBC at public meetings, hearings, and external inquiries.
