We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Countryside Ranger to join our team within the Rochdale Borough area. This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys working in natural environments and contributing to the upkeep and sustainability of local green spaces.
Countryside Ranger Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general countryside maintenance, including fence repairs and installation
- Maintain and manage outdoor drainage systems
- Support and assist with educational sessions and community engagement activities
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with environmental and health & safety regulations
- Operate equipment and tools required for land management tasks
Countryside Ranger Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Valid and up-to-date PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates (essential)
- Experience in countryside management, grounds maintenance, or a similar outdoor role
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills, particularly when supporting educational activities
Countryside Ranger Desirable:
- Previous experience in a ranger or environmental role
- Knowledge of local wildlife and conservation practices
