Job Role – Assembly Operatives / Technicians
Location: Middleton
Rate Of Pay – £13.14/hour
Contract Type – Temp to Perm
Hours: Monday-Thursday 07:00-15:30, Friday 07:00-13:00
We are working alongside a globally recognised manufacturer of electrical and electronic safety components. We\’re currently looking for Assembly Operatives / Technicians to support both the Service and Production teams. This is a hands‑on role where your technical skills and attention to detail will make a real impact.
What You\’ll Be Doing:
- Investigating and repairing faults as needed
- Writing reports and completing documentation to support production records
- Occasionally assisting on-site with equipment (with a long‑term opportunity for field‑based support)
- Collaborating within a team or working independently as needed
- Building mechanical and electrical sub‑assemblies to precise specifications
- Fitting and mounting components with care and accuracy
- Performing bench work, including electrical function testing
- Conducting in‑process inspections using technical drawings and visual aids
- Working with hand tools such as Verniers, torque wrenches, and Cleco systems
- Rotating across different workstations to support a dynamic workflow
- Reading and interpreting industrial‑standard technical drawings and work instructions
What We\’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly
- Confidence in fault‑finding and solving problems on the spot
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
- Experience working in high‑volume production environments
- Good hand tool skills and basic understanding of tool care and maintenance
- The ability to read and follow schematics, diagrams, and technical instructions
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality
- Strong communication skills and a proactive work ethic
