ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Assistant is responsible for ensuring that food production at Daylesford Organic’s award-winning facility is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This facility specializes in creating organic soups, broths, and meals for a diverse range of Retail, Catering, and Wholesale customers. Using fresh ingredients from the farm whenever possible, including meat exclusively supplied by our abattoir, milk from our own Creamery, and vegetables and herbs from our Market Garden, the Production Assistant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional quality and taste.

SALARY: £11.90
HOURS: 45H Mon -Fri Between 5am – 16.30

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports to: Production Unit Manager

FOOD
• To execute all products as per company specifications.
• To handle and treat the food as if it were your own.
• To execute all food preparation in a timely and professional manner.
• To adhere to the organic standards as set out by the Soil Association.
• To contribute to the award-winning standard of all Daylesford Organic products.

OPERATIONS
• To ensure that all ingredients are prepared, weighed and measured ready for production.
• To ensure cleaning rotas are adhered to at all times.
• To ensure rubbish is separated into correct recycling bins and is removed from site throughout, as well as at the end of, shift.
• To complete all tasks efficiently within the timeframe given.

NUMBERS
• To work safely and efficiently to ensure that all daily orders are completed above the required fulfilment rate.
• To minimise wastage levels as much as possible.
• To comply with the production unit’s internal and external audit requirements.
• To aid the Production Unit Manager in the fulfilment of the production unit’s annual financial/budgetary targets.

PEOPLE
• Participating in the effective communication amongst the team regarding any changes to recipes, procedures and/or operational needs, and amongst the company and other customers regarding any quality issues/shortages in the required timescale.
