Daylesford Stays is a collection of award-winning pubs and cottages that has grown up around Daylesford’s farm. We provide experiences that embrace luxury escapism: understated elegance, indulgence and nurture. The collection comprises four pubs, The Wild Rabbit, The Fox, The Bell and The Three Horseshoes along with a collection of 34 cottages located at Daylesford Farm, Kingham and Daylesford Village. The ultimate countryside escape, each property conveys a sense of character and individuality while retaining a welcoming, home-from-home feeling. In line with Daylesford’s core values, their design draws from nature, as well as from local skills, craftsmanship, architectural tradition, which has resulted in the buildings being sensitively and sustainably restored to reflect and respect the surrounding environment.
About the role
We are looking for a talented and passionate Online Content Executive to join our team. As Online Content Executive you will be integral in helping grow the digital representation of our Stays, Events and Experiences across Daylesford and Daylesford Stays. As Online Executive you will support the Senior Marketing Manager with the maintenance and optimisation of the online menu updates, event listings, digital booking experience and site content for Daylesford Stays, and upload event listings for Daylesford. We are looking for a digital native, someone keen to learn, with an interest in the latest digital developments and technology to support the team in accelerating our online strategy this year and beyond. This is a full time role 40 hours per week and based at the Daylesford Farm office 5 days a week. £28,000-£32,000 per annum.
Responsibilities
- Support the Digital team with the day to day running of the Daylesford Stays website to achieve KPI objectives. Working together to set clear goals, track performance, analyse results, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage and optimise website listings for Pub menus, Events and Experiences including the upload of all new listings. Ensuring listings are enriched with SEO optimised content, need-to-know information and imagery.
- Collaborating with the SEO Manager and Marketing team to manage the online content calendar for seasonal outreach including journals, recipes and content pages to support digital trading.
- Work closely with the Digital Designer to plan and execute the key seasonal changes across the Daylesford Stays website focusing on Events as per the content calendar and support with building all content templates in WordPress for Daylesford Stays and Magento for Daylesford.
- Working with the Events team to manage event availability and calendars, making sure that events are strategically scheduled to optimize customer engagement, attendance, and revenue.
- Work closely with Events team, marketing & CRM team to activate events and maximise exposure across all our digital touchpoints, including email, paid media & organic social channels.
- Manage the UX roadmap for the digital booking experience. Working closely with the Senior Online Trading Manager to develop the Experience stem of the website to align with Daylesford’s sales & revenue growth strategy.
- Monitor the Daylesford Stays website daily to ensure events and menus are optimised through a commercial lens, making sure content is accurate and consistent with brand standards.
- Review competitor activity on a weekly basis, providing recommendations to improve website content, merchandising and outbound digital marketing communications.
- Analyse site performance via Google Analytics and support the Senior Marketing Manager with weekly trade analysis and suggestions for website optimisations.
Skills and requirements
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar digital, e-commerce, or online content role, ideally within a fast-paced consumer-facing business.
- Strong understanding of online customer journeys and user experience within a B2C environment, with the ability to optimise digital content and navigation to enhance engagement and conversion.
- A collaborative team player who is proactive, adaptable, and able to take initiative, while confidently managing multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Highly organised with strong planning and time-management skills, ensuring accuracy and efficiency when managing digital content, updates, and reporting.
- Experience or working knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), with an understanding of best practices for improving search visibility and website performance.
- Experience working with content management systems, ideally Magento and/or WordPress, including uploading, editing, and maintaining website content.
- Data & Analytics: Proficient in Google Analytics, with the ability to interpret data, monitor website performance, and use insights to inform improvements.
- Experience or interest in the hospitality, retail, or lifestyle sector would be advantageous, with an understanding of customer expectations in a premium or brand-led environment.
