As support to the NPD team, the Packaging Coordinator’s role involves managing the critical path for launch, and maintaining supply of packaging stocks.

We’d love to talk to you about this exciting role if you love all things food and packaging-related and have a keen interest in sustainability. You are a self-starter who can work autonomously on key tasks and have good time management skills, commerciality and an eye for detail. This role is full time, 40 hours and based at the Daylesford Farm, Gloucestershire. Salary £28,700 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT, ARTWORK & PRINT CO-ORDINATION
  • Support NPD team on all aspects of current projects
  • Liaise between stakeholders, coordinate critical paths and facilitate artwork flow to keep all projects on track and hit print deadlines
  • Attend regular progress meetings, report back on allocated tasks, flag issues, suggest solutions, and collate minutes
  • Manage packaging trackers; know where artworks, print and orders are at all times
  • Proof-reading and QC of printer proofs versus artwork
  • Assist with and organise print and packaging trials if required
  • PACKAGING SOURCING & ORDERS
    • Support with sourcing packaging for NPD launches to hit brief, brand standards and critical path
    • Cost up new packaging and repeat orders. Carry out cost analysis and negotiation where necessary to achieve targets. Place POs and see through to delivery.
    • Identify cost and labour savings for existing packaging formats.
    • Support on seeking out and researching new sustainable and innovative packaging; attend local trade shows and research online forums.
  • MANAGEMENT OF PACKAGING DATABASE
    • Coordination and planned packaging stock management, with supply chain, including artwork amends and proof approval before reorders are placed
    • System maintenance, keeping packaging SKUs and POs accurate
    • Update and maintain a library of packaging samples (physical and photographic)
  • SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT
    • Support with logistics of supplier packaging handovers ensuring all paperwork complete and shared in advance of meetings, meetings attended and minute and follow ups managed speedily.
    • Support our Senior Packaging Developer to coordinate new printer vetting, first contact cold calls or product suppliers’ proposals, including specs, proofs and samples.
    • For every product launch particularly Christmas, create photographic packaging specs detailing all elements of packaging to ensure product is packed accurately.
