ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a passionate and hands‑on Garden Retail Team Member to join the Daylesford Garden Team. Based in our garden retail section, you’ll provide friendly customer service, offer basic plant advice, and help with day‑to‑day tasks like watering, re‑potting, and maintaining our vibrant displays. If you love working with plants and people, this is the perfect role for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome and engage customers with genuine warmth and product knowledge.
  • Assisting with planting and creation for Daylesford clients. Plant knowledge is advantageous!
  • Plant maintenance (weeding, watering, pruning).
  • Garden space maintenance (cleaning, moving items, creating exciting plant displays).
  • Helping customers regarding any requests, questions or advice.
  • Assisting with planting and creation for Daylesford Stays Gardens.
  • Supporting with plant deliveries and ensure accurate stock labelling.
  • Bring our purpose to life by driving meaningful social and environmental improvements, contributing to our journey as a B Corp, and aligning with our sustainability vision.
  • Inspire and empower our customers, suppliers, and partners to live and work more consciously, creating a lasting positive impact on the world.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • A solid understanding of plants, seasonal care routines, soil types, pests, and garden maintenance techniques.
  • The ability to offer advice to customers, recommend suitable products, and identify plant health issues is essential.
  • Strong collaborative skills and a willingness to work closely with colleagues in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
  • Must be supportive, adaptable, and proactive in helping the team meet daily goals and maintain high service standards.
  • Previous experience in a retail garden centre setting is advantageous, especially familiarity with stock handling, customer service, merchandising, and seasonal product knowledge.
  • Full, Clean Driving Licence, a valid and clean driving licence is required for transporting goods, making deliveries, or supporting off‑site work. This ensures flexibility in duties and may involve driving company vehicles as needed.
