About the Role

As a Commis Chef, you will be able to execute all dishes as per menu specs. Ideally, you’ll have worked in similar fresh food and restaurant environments or you’ll simply have a passion for good food so that the basics come easily to you. The role will be split between the Farmshop kitchen and Heritage House. Duties will involve preparation of food for our deli, restaurants, Daylesford delivered and the delivery of events in Heritage House when required.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all dishes according to menu specifications.
  • Deliver daily mise en place requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with kitchen audit standards.
  • Collaborate proactively with kitchen colleagues.
  • Maintain full awareness of stock levels and promptly report shortages to the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Adhere to internal store audit requirements.
  • Report any Health & Safety concerns to your line manager.
  • Demonstrate eagerness to learn and develop, taking pride in your work and never overlooking poor standards.

*The on target earning potential for this role is £32,681.29 per annum based on a 45‑hour contract - comprising a base salary of £28,681.29 plus a qualified estimate of £4,000 in gratuities and service charge.*

About gratuities & service charge: Gratuities (tips) are paid on a pro‑ratio basis. It is estimated that in 2025, our full‑time employees can expect to receive in the range of £4,000 in addition to their annual salary.
