We are seeking a Junior Butcher to support our skilled team in delivering high-quality cuts of meat to our customers ensuring freshness, presentation, and food safety at every step. This is a hands-on role for someone with a passion for organic produce, excellent knife skills, and a flair for customer service in a luxury retail setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion organic meats including poultry and whole carcasses
- Maintain high standards of freshness, quality, and visual presentation
- Support counter displays and pre-packaged offerings in line with brand standards
- Engage with customers, sharing product knowledge and cooking tips
- Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene protocols
- Rotate stock, check dates, and conduct regular quality checks
- Collaborate with the Lead Butcher, General Manager, and Head Chef to reduce waste and maximise product use
- Promote seasonal offers and alternative cuts to boost sales
Qualifications & Criteria
- A true food enthusiast with a passion for fresh organic meat and produce
- Outstanding customer service skills and a friendly, professional manner
- Strong knife skills and a keen eye for detail
- Enthusiasm for organic, sustainable food and ethical sourcing
- Previous experience in butchery or fresh food retail (preferred)
