F&B Assistant, The Bell - Chipping Norton in Charlbury

Responsibilities

• Ensure the restaurant, pub and private dining spaces (depending on where the need is) are set up for every meal period, respecting the restaurant-specific standards.
• Deliver outstanding guest service by exceeding guest expectations.
• Have a thorough knowledge of all dishes and beverages on the menu, being able to bring them \”to life\” in conversation with guests, and be aware of all potential allergens.
• Keep a constant attentive eye on the timing and flow of service at your tables, highlighting any delays to your manager.
• Ensure all bills presented to the guests are correct and are cashed off correctly.
• Bring our purpose to life by driving meaningful social and environmental improvements, contributing to our journey as a B Corp, and aligning with our sustainability vision.
• Inspire and empower our customers, suppliers, and partners to live and work more consciously, creating a lasting positive impact on the world.
• Excellent Customer Service: Friendly, attentive, and professional interaction with guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Strong Communication Skills: Clearly relay orders to the kitchen and answer customer questions about the menu, specials, or dietary concerns.
• Multitasking & Efficiency: Handle multiple tables, manage time well, and stay organized during busy shifts.
• Knowledge of Food & Beverage: Familiarity with menu items, ingredients, and pairings to make recommendations and upsell effectively.
• Teamwork & Reliability: Collaborate with kitchen staff and fellow servers, while showing up on time and maintaining a dependable work ethic.

Compensation & Benefits

On target earning potential for this role is £32,479.20 per annum based on a 45‑hour contract—comprising a base salary of £29,969.20, plus a qualified estimate of £3,510 in gratuities and service charge. Please note this role is paid hourly so this is a projected salary and OTE.
