We are therefore recruiting a Welder Fabricator for the Bicester, Oxfordshire site. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating Mig welding machines and efficiently processing metal components to the required quality standard.
The Role:
- Identifying parts/weldments; jigs and fixture types to enable you to complete the welding process of all metal assemblies to the required standards.
- Proper handling of machines, product and tooling at all times.
- Ensuring shut down of all welding equipment and gas connection at the end of your shift.
- Producing quality components and on time.
- Clocking and recording jobs and quantities produced.
- Carrying out the operator maintenance requirements for the machine and the tooling.
- Highlighting any faults or damage to the machine and its tooling.
- Returning all jigs and fixtures to the original holding area.
- Reporting any quality issues.
- Ensuring all workstation hand tools are repositioned in the tool cabinet by the end of your shift.
- Carrying out all duties in a safe manner.
- Ensuring reject system is adhered to; making sure parts are transferred to the appropriate area for evaluation and tagged with fault rejection ticket.
- General housekeeping in designated areas.
- Accurate paperwork completion.
- Adhering to Health and Safety requirements and wearing PPE.
- Contributing to achieving departmental goals and objectives.
- Undertaking any other duties conducive with the effective operation of the post.
- Complying with all company policies and procedures.
The Requirements:
- Time served Welder and ability to obtain Coded Welding certificate in MIG Welding OR 2 years experience in MIG Welding and ability to obtain Coded Welding certificate in MIG Welding.
- 1 years' experience as a metal fabricator within an engineering environment.
- Working knowledge of welding machine settings, gas flows and amperage usage on various materials.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Willing to undertake or provide training as required.
- An awareness of general Health and Safety rules.
- Proven ability to be flexible, working overtime and changing shift patterns as required.
