The successful candidate will be responsible for spray painting buses, to a high-quality finish, in line with customer specifications and to prepare all vehicles for the paint process in line with Company procedures.
The Role:
- Responsible for the marking out and spraying of Basecoat and Direct gloss colours.
- Responsible for any touch up repairs and small paint repairs, prior to sign-off and vehicle delivery.
- Responsible for assisting paint preparation i.e., marking up vehicles prior to paint.
- Responsible for the safe operation of plant, equipment and/or hand tools associated with the paint-preparation & paint processes.
- Preparing aluminium panels using an orbital sander.
- Preparing GRP panels and materials using orbital sander and various rubbing blocks.
- Identifying and repairing small dents in all aluminium panels.
- Identifying and repairing small imperfections in GRP products.
- Masking of windows, door apertures, lights, etc.
The Requirements:
- Time served as a Spray Painter and Vehicle Preparation Operative.
- Experience of Spray Painting with Preparation knowledge.
- Knowledge of Clear over base and 2 pack paint.
- Repairs to minor dents.
- Spot repairs to paintwork.
- Use of Air Tools.
- Experience using Masking tape and masking paper.
- Experience preparing various types of materials, e.g., fibreglass.

Shift Pattern:
- Early: Monday to Thursday 06:00 - 14:30 and Friday - 06:00 - 12:00.
- Late: Monday to Thursday 14:00 - 22:30 and Friday 12:00 - 18:00.
- Shifts are on a two-week rotation.
