HSE Advisor in Bicester

Purpose of Post:

Assisting the Head of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) on all matters relating to the development and implementation of HSE management systems that are appropriate for the organisation. Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and promoting best practice. Leading the introduction, co-ordination andon-going management and control of associated strategies, policies and procedures.

Key Tasks:

Provide regular reports and updates to the Head of HSE.

Provide advice and guidance to Management on compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental law and best practice.

Development, implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety and Environmental policies, systems and procedures.

Work closely with the onsite teams to complete/review risk assessments.

Advise and assist Management in establishing, implementing and maintaining safe systems of work.

Promote a positive business culture and behaviour towards HSE, involving all employees.

Essential:

NEBOSH Certificate

At least 3 years experience in a similar Health, Safety and Environmental role within a manufacturing environment.

Experience conducting detailed incident investigation and reporting

Completing complex Risk Assessments

Completing COSHH assessments

Completing thorough Audits and inspections

Designing and implementing Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

Experience in developing and delivering training courses

Proven problem-solving abilities

Proven organisational and interpersonal skills

Interpret Health and Safety and Environmental legislation into practical working arrangements

Computer literate Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

Strong communication and influencing skills

Assertive and resilient

The ability to work on own initiative and complete tasks without close supervision

The ability to remain confidential at all times

Flexible and adaptable

Good timekeeping and attendance record

Good disciplinary record

Full driving licence

Own transport to enable travel between company sites

Able to commit to occasional travel to Northern Ireland or overseas
