KierBAM are a Joint Venture (KBJV) partnership between Kier and BAM. We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking a Quality Engineer. Due to the site being a high Security Military Naval base, additional security checks will need to be made. SC level of security clearance is required. Only candidates holding a British Passport can be considered for this role.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with Site Teams regarding the effective implementation of the Quality Management Systems and Contract requirements.
- Compiling records to demonstrate the conformity of the works.
- Ensuring that an effective Quality Management System is being operated and maintained at all levels.
- Providing an independent channel of communication on quality, initiating necessary action to resolve deficiencies.
- Preparing, reviewing and evaluating Inspection & Test plans including those of sub-contractors.
- Maintaining the material approval process by inspecting materials delivered, ensuring they meet project requirements.
- Reviewing Lifetime Quality Records throughout the progression of the works and supporting timely submission of handover packages.
- Providing guidance and assistance on Quality matters.
- Providing site training/mentoring on the requirements of the Quality Management Systems.
- Encouraging feedback from all employees and sub-contractors on possible areas of improvement.
- Evaluating Non-conformances to identify trends and providing timely reports on NCR status to the Project Manager and the company Q&E Manager.
Academic Qualifications:
- Civil Engineering, Quality, Construction related Qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng)
- CSCS - White PQP/AQP
