Building a sustainable tomorrow. BAM UK & Ireland are recruiting a Static Electrical Engineer to join the team based at the Plymouth Community Diagnostic Centre. This role is working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.

Making Possible

  • Maintain the full, safe operational functionality and presentation of all electrical and mechanical services across the site.
  • Ensure checking, cleaning, servicing, maintenance, and record-keeping are consistently carried out in line with company standards, SFG20, NHS HTM’s, and all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.
  • Maximise equipment safety, reliability, availability, and presentation.
  • Carry out repairs within the scope of training, competency, and authorisation.
  • Undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and complete all associated documentation and reports accurately.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance and emergency breakdowns, completing all relevant paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
  • Be part of an out of hours on call rota.
  • Complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
  • Carry out work in a safe, professional, and diligent manner.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and safe systems of work.

What do you bring to the role?

  • Relevant electrical qualifications and proven industry experience.
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical services/systems.
  • Demonstrable experience working as an Electrical Engineer.
  • Experience of working within a call-out rota environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • A strong customer service focus with excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive approach with strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to anticipate, diagnose, and repair faults effectively.
  • Experience working within an NHS or healthcare environment would be highly desirable (ideally with an understanding of healthcare compliance and operational requirements).
