Groundworker Apprentice (Full time/permanent) – Start date September 2026. Position based on various projects across Newcastle, with some travel and living away expected. A BAM apprenticeship is a full‑time earn‑and‑learn position involved in delivering multi‑million projects, leaving a lasting legacy in our communities.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing and levelling construction sites.
- Laying foundations, drainage systems, and concrete.
- Operating and maintaining tools and equipment.
- Following health and safety protocols on‑site.
- Working as part of a team to complete a variety of groundwork tasks.
Upon completion of a Level 2 apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress to further learning and leadership training, aiming to become a future Works Manager.
Qualification Requirements
- GCSE Maths and English grade 5 or above (desired – you can build on your achievements during the apprenticeship).
- Must not already hold a similar Level 2 qualification.
Additional Requirements
- Desirable to hold a valid driving licence, or willingness to obtain one and have access to a vehicle during the apprenticeship.
- Must be willing to move away for projects; living‑away allowance and travel expenses are provided.
