BAM UK & Ireland is seeking experienced and motivated Commercial Managers to join our growing team, delivering major civil engineering projects across Scotland. Our current projects are part of the energy infrastructure sector, focused on building new substations that support Scotland's transition to net zero.

In this role, you will be responsible for two major infrastructure projects within the ASTI Framework with a combined value of approx. £500m in a supervisory/supporting role, sitting above project delivery reporting directly to the Senior Commercial Manager. The position requires flexibility to work across our area offices in Inverness and Kilsyth, as well as at various project sites. A living away allowance will be provided for working away from home, along with other package benefits. BAM operates a flexible working policy.

As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintain effective communications with the Framework Director, Regional Commercial Manager, and Senior Commercial Manager, in addition to project management and other associated disciplines, and enhance the profile of commercial services.
  • Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners, including key supply chain management.
  • Provide commercial input to contacts with clients, and if necessary, client's representatives.
  • Provide commercial advice to the site team in connection with all project issues and provide input to area commercial discussions/reviews.
  • Take part in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy.
  • Manage the Project Commercial Managers to ensure the production of monthly cost and value reports, quarterly forecasts, and company-tied costs.
  • Obtain cash-flow information and, alongside the Project Commercial Managers, present all reports.
  • Provide support and input during negotiation of insurance claims with the insurer's representatives.
  • Agree terms and engage legal and commercial consultants and monitor their accounts.
  • Maintain contact with supply chain partners through contract vetting and input to contract documentation.
  • Carry out sub-contract document vetting and input to sub-contract documentation.

An experienced Commercial Manager used to working with large-scale infrastructure projects with a proven track record ready for the next step up in your career. Open collaborative approach and willing to help and assist those around you. Educated to Degree level in a relevant Commercial, Construction or Project Management qualification (preferred but not essential).
