BAM are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Managing Quantity Surveyor who can strengthen our existing team on the large civil engineering project, the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project.

BAM are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Managing Quantity Surveyor who can strengthen our existing team on the large civil engineering project, the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project.
EGL2 project is a JV with Hitachi Energy (HEBAM) and 5-year project which will see the creation of a 525kV, 2GW high voltage direct current (HVDC) subsea transmission cable from Peterhead in Scotland to Drax in England. This will be the longest HVDC Cable in the UK and the UK’s single largest transmission project ever, providing enough power for 2 million UK homes.

Your mission
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the following:
- Reporting to Commercial Manager
- Liaison with operations team and support services
- Managing a commercial team of varying levels across multiple schemes
- Responsibility for overseeing commercial project management on multiple schemes including ensuring timely provision of the following:
- monthly cost value reconciliations, cashflow monitoring, monthly and quarterly forecasts
- monthly application for payment
- change management
Who are we looking for?
Necessary
- Previous experience of managing a team (ideally across multiple projects)
- Previous experience on civil engineering schemes
- Experience of NEC form of Contract
- Thorough understanding of contractual provisions with a view to be able to comment, review and draft documents.
- Relevant qualification – Degree; HNC/D
Advantageous
- Early Contractor Involvement experience
- Experience of target cost contracts
- Good client facing collaborative attitude
- Good communication skills
- Relevant Professional qualification (CICES/RICS)
