BAM Infrastructure are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Commercial Manager to work in our Pre-Construction team. Being part of the team, you will play a key part in the work winning and preconstruction phases of large civil engineering projects which will provide critical infrastructure to enable future, renewable developments across Scotland. You will be required to work out of our Kilsyth or Inverness area offices getting involved in projects all over Scotland.

Your mission:
- Maintain effective communications with Business Unit managers, Regional Commercial Managers, project management and other associated disciplines and enhance the profile of commercial services within Pre-Construction.
- Be responsible for staff matters which may include: staff succession awareness, recruitment, development, attitude and behavioural issues, competency and retainment issues, staff allocation.
- Work with the Regional Bid Manager and be an integral member of the bid team and develop a commercial plan for each bid. Ensure that mandatory bid requirements are completed, liaising with legal, risk, finance and procurement to ensure commercial requirements are considered.
- Participate in legal discussions with the client for conditions of contract and work with legal to ensure BAM baseline is maintained.
- Review the procurement strategy, ensuring key supply chain have appropriate conditions and vetting quotations. Liaise with finance to ensure BAM baseline is maintained.
- Maintain contact with supply chain partners through contract vetting and input to contract documentation.
- Review JV partners agreements with legal to ensure BAM baseline is maintained. Ensure commercial clarity with any divisions of responsibilities.
- Verify each bid with benchmarking, collate necessary information from projects.
- Be responsible for all commercial aspects of staff performance and development reviews.
- Attend and provide input to HSQE meetings, weekly tender review meetings, area management team briefings and senior commercial forums.
- Provide commercial advice to the team in connection with all pre-construction issues and provide input to area commercial discussions/reviews.
- Provide input to the OP business plan, and area quarterly and annual results.
Who are we looking for?
The Following Are Mandatory Requirements:
- 10+ years' experience in Pre-Construction and/or Project Delivery with a tier 1 Contractor.
- Familiar with working with own initiative in a problem-solving environment with a can-do approach and be a team player.
- Awareness of benchmarking and using historic information to vet budgets.
- Good communication skills with various internal and external stakeholders including client, legal, risk, procurement & finance.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
