Building a sustainable tomorrow. We are currently looking to recruit Laboratory Technicians at laboratories and projects throughout the UK. Locations include:
- HS2 South Laboratory, Aylesbury, Oxfordshire
- HS2 North Laboratory, Greatworth, Northamptonshire
- Devonport Docks, Plymouth
- Hinkley Point C, Near Bridgwater, Somerset
- Kilsyth Laboratory, Scotland
- Inverness Laboratory, Scotland
The roles require a suitable candidate with experience in materials related testing ranging from Concrete and Aggregates. Candidates will need to be flexible as there may be a requirement to support the wider materials team within the business from time to time.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that site sampling and laboratory testing is carried out to high standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
- Ensure that adequate and proper records are kept and filed correctly to satisfy the requirements of the laboratory management system and UKAS requirements.
- Ensure that sampling and testing is carried out to the appropriate British/European Standards.
- Ensure test equipment is checked, cleaned and maintained to an acceptable level.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with internal/external clients/site engineering staff on testing requirements.
What do you bring to the role?
- In-situ testing in accordance with relevant standards.
- Materials/Aggregate sampling and testing in accordance with all relevant standards.
- Concrete sampling/testing in accordance with all relevant standards.
- Maintaining high standards of work and compliance with UKAS accreditation requirements.
- Previous experience of working within a busy UKAS accredited laboratory.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent an advantage.
- CSCS card.
- Driving Licence.
