Join the BAM UK & Ireland team as a Quality Engineer in Scotland. You will lead the quality arrangements, ensuring standards and specifications are implemented throughout construction and upheld at handover. Weekly and monthly site inspections will be required around Inverness‑shire and Argyll, and you will attend monthly meetings in Kilsyth.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the quality arrangement and assisting in preparation of the Project Execution Plan and other documentation to ensure the Contract, Design & Specification requirements are met.
- Collaborate with various disciplines to ensure quality requirements are considered during works preparation/planning.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and stakeholders for their input towards the ITP and project documentation deliverables.
- Work with Section Leads and delivery teams to ensure Inspection and Test Plans & Checklists are prepared to support construction activities and programme.
- Develop and determine standards for inspection and tests on all procedures, overseeing all testing methods.
- Perform inspection and audits to review quality of materials delivered or produced on site and ensure compliance.
- Supervise the implementation of all test and inspection schedules and ensure adherence to all project procedures.
- Maintain QA/QC documents for the project, interpreting test reports for compliance.
- Assist sub‑contractors to ensure knowledge of quality standards and compliance.
- Support audit activities, including supplier audits and third‑party audit preparation.
- Analyse products and non‑conformance processes, determine corrective actions with the site team, conduct root‑cause investigations and prepare monthly performance reports.
- Track and close non‑conformances or defects.
- Support digitalisation processes and innovations.
- Ensure HSQE compliance for first‑time delivery with zero incidents.
- Perform surveillance visits of all work methods and maintain knowledge on quality assurance standards.
- Coordinate between supplier, subcontractor and client to resolve potential issues.
- Support the handover process.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the business management system and projects.
- Report to the Regional Quality Manager to control and monitor all quality activities.

Qualifications
- Experience supporting the planning, implementing, monitoring and improvement of quality management systems in relation to site activities.
- Internal auditor qualified.
- Commitment to maintaining Continuous Professional Development membership within the Chartered Quality Institute.
- Ability to communicate effectively and raise awareness of potential issues.
- Proficient in information technology, with awareness of digital construction applications, platforms and practices.
- Degree level qualification or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience working in construction project delivery.
- Experience with substation, earthworks and material testing is advantageous.
