BAM UK & Ireland are seeking an experienced and motivated Design Delivery Coordinator to join our ASTI onshore team on a substation project in Stonehaven. With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued success in delivering major infrastructure schemes, this is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in projects that are helping power Scotland's renewable energy future.
You will be part of a high-performing team delivering large-scale civil engineering works for a new substation, with the chance to make a real impact from day one. Your team will be based out of our head offices in Kilsyth or Inverness until construction begins in 2027, where site attendance will then be required.
As one of our Scotland Design Delivery Coordinators, you will be accountable for:- Engaging in a purposeful and well-organised manner with the designer and other team members.
- Managing design delivery project documentation.
- Treating Health and Safety, sustainability, cost, time, constructability and appropriate quality matters as primary drivers of approach.
- Assimilating information and summarising it in a manner that can be used to communicate with the project team.
- Contributing to written submission material.
- Attending bid and project meetings to contribute a clear view of the work scope and intention of the engineered solutions.
- Coordinating design and engineering by personal contact with key stakeholders and project team.
- Managing 3D design and delivery to inform and deliver the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP) requirements.
- Contributing using engineering expertise and advice to add value to the process of design development.
- Keeping project management informed of activities undertaken and progress achieved.
- Assisting in developing and monitoring design programmes.
- Contributing to design and project risk register.
- Contributing to compliance to the CDM 2015 requirements, for both internal and external designers.
- Contributing to preparation of material and submission documents in support of planned engineered solutions and construction methods.
- Contributing to the handover process following contract award, to input a clear view of the work scope and intentions of the designed solutions.
- Contributing to the identification of change and coordinating assessments of time and cost effects.
- Practical experience of engineering through time on site at sub agent and above or involvement in other engineering activities, including use of IT and digital construction.
- Knowledge of 3D Design Delivery Strategy.
- Some understanding of engineering principles, geotechnics and structures.
- Knowledge of design delivery process gained through successful experience of design and design co-ordination role for projects or designer responsibility.
- Knowledge of project management process gained through successful experience of project management.
- Understanding of the work process in design offices through successful experience of design delivery coordination.
- For internal applicants, working knowledge of NP20 (Design Management for design services), company procedures, guidance policy and relevant government legislation.
- Knowledge of operating information management systems compliant with ES1192 and associated PAS1192 standards.
- An understanding of design standards and procedures; preferably with some knowledge of temporary works systems, processes, and design in relation to BS 5975:2019.
