BAM Infrastructure is seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Assistant to join our dynamic team, delivering major civil engineering projects across Scotland. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile infrastructure developments, primarily within the energy sector, including the construction of new substations that play a vital role in supporting Scotland's transition to net zero.
Your team will be based at our Kilsyth Office. BAM operates a flexible working policy.
As a Commercial Assistant, you will support the commercial team in maintaining effective cost control and reporting. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the monthly cost and value reconciliation supplying requested information such as material and plant accruals
- Input into our cost collation systems
- Processing subcontractor payments and clearing bought ledger invoices in line with agreed terms
- Producing cost-monitoring reports and analysing exception data
- Gathering and collating commercial data for internal and external reporting
- Managing allocation sheets, records, and the document filing system
- Participating in meetings and training sessions
- Using MS Office and other software for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Supporting wider commercial functions as required
- Ensuring compliance with company and project commercial procedures
What do you bring to the role?
- English and Mathematics National Qualifications or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role or construction industry is desirable but not essential
- Strong organisational skills, diligence, and motivation to learn
- A keen interest in the construction industry and commercial functions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in IT, especially MS Office tools
