BAM UK & Ireland's Infrastructure Segment are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated M&E Site Manager to join our friendly Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project teams in Peterhead, Scotland and Drax, North Yorkshire. EGL2 is a 525kV, 2GW high voltage direct current (HVDC) subsea and underground onshore transmission link with two HVDC convertor stations constructed at either end of the cable route. The project once completed will transport green energy generated in Scotland through the EGL2 infrastructure to other parts of the UK where it is needed, providing enough electricity to power around two million homes. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale engineering project that plays a key role in delivering critical infrastructure, paving the way for future renewable developments across Scotland.   • Support the M&E Management team and provide M&E advice to the wider project team.
  • Manage and supervise M&E subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, and quality delivery of works.
  • Monitor progress against programme and escalate delays, risks, and opportunities.
  • Review and approve M&E Contractors RAMS (Activity Schedules) before their work commences on site.
  • Carry out regular inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and standards.
  • Lead QA/QC inspections, walkdowns, and manage snagging and defect close-out.
  • Support implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure documentation is completed.
  • Resolve on-site coordination and installation issues in a proactive and timely manner.
  • Maintain good working relationship with all stakeholders and liaise with the client, consultants, and subcontractors to maintain effective communication.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with company procedures, project requirements and statutory regulations.
  • Identify and report project risks, opportunities, and potential improvements.
  • Provide strong, visible leadership to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient site operations.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years experience in Building Services / MEP projects, preferably.
  • Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • SMSTS and CSCS card holder.
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards (e.g. Inspection & Testing Qualifications City & Guilds 2391).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and construction drawings.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven track record in QA/QC, inspections, and defect close-out.
  • Organised, flexible, and able to manage multiple priorities on site.
