BAM UK & Ireland are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Commercial Manager who can strengthen our existing team on the large civil engineering project, the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project. EGL2 project is a JV with Hitachi Energy (HEBAM) and a 5-year project which will see the creation of a 525kV, 2GW high voltage direct current (HVDC) subsea transmission cable from Peterhead in Scotland to Drax in England. This will be the longest HVDC Cable in the UK and the UK’s single largest transmission project ever, providing enough power for 2 million UK homes.
A living away allowance will be provided for working away from home along with other package benefits. BAM operates a flexible working policy.
As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
- Maintain effective communications with the Framework Director, Regional Commercial Manager, project management and other associated disciplines and enhance the profile of commercial services.
- Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through pre-contract meetings, contract vetting and input to subcontract documents.
- Provide commercial input to contacts with clients, and if necessary, client's representatives.
- Provide commercial advice to the site team in connection with all project issues and provide input to area commercial discussions/reviews.
- Take part in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy.
- Produce and negotiate insurance claims with the insurer's representatives.
- Agree terms and engage legal and commercial consultants and monitor their accounts.
- Maintain contact with supply chain partners through contract vetting and input to contract documentation.
- Carry out sub-contract document vetting and input to sub-contract documentation.
Successful experience as a Commercial Manager working with multiple projects and with a minimum of 4 years in this role. Educated to Degree level in a relevant Commercial, Construction or Project Management qualification (preferred but not essential). Open collaborative approach and willing to help and assist those around you.
