BAM Infrastructure is currently recruiting for a 4D Modeler to join our Digital Project Solutions team. The role reports to the Head of Project Delivery & Digital Engineering within a matrix structure and is responsible for producing and developing high‑quality 4D planning outputs that integrate construction sequencing with the federated 3D model.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed simulations, programme‑linked visualisations, and construction rehearsals that support safe, efficient, and predictable project delivery.
- Work closely with planners, engineers and wider project teams to ensure accuracy, clarity, and technical robustness of 4D models, supporting both tender‑stage methodologies and live project planning.
- Develop high‑level and detailed 4D models using Fuzor and Synchro 4D linked to the P6 programme, ensuring accurate sequencing and logic.
- Coordinate with planners to align the 3D model with the latest programme updates, identifying clashes, sequencing issues or constructability risks.
- Produce 4D visualisations, simulations and digital rehearsals to support health & safety reviews, logistics planning and stakeholder communication.
- Validate construction methodology through 4D (temporary works, access, lifting operations, interfaces, phasing).
- Maintain and update 4D models throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accuracy of planned versus actual where required.
- Support RAMS, site briefings and toolbox talks by preparing clear 4D sequences for critical/high‑risk activities.
- Assist in ensuring the models align with the BIM Execution Plan or project requirements and maintain accurate information quality for the client or appointing party.
- Provide other production support as needed and share knowledge and solutions related to technical workflows with co‑modelers.
- Capture best practices, workflows and lessons learned and communicate them within the project and wider team.
- Align operational delivery with current digital engineering best practice guidance from the DPS Centres of Excellence (COEs) and contribute to best practice guidance.
- Deliver to a high standard in accordance with the agreed project scope.
Qualifications
- Technical education or 1‑2 years’ experience in construction or related fields.
- 1‑2 years’ experience working on construction projects in a digital domain.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination process is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong time‑management skills, efficiency and ability to meet challenging goals.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑starter with a drive to pursue continued education on digital technologies.
- Attention to detail and commitment to thorough review of digital engineering outputs before sharing.
- Technical competency in 4D modelling and, optionally, one or more of the following: 2D/3D information production, 2D/3D information coordination, visualisation, planning & scheduling, commercial, BIM for sustainability, BIM for FM operations (digital twins & AIMs), MMC and DFMA.
