Building a sustainable tomorrow. KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting pre-pour and post-pour checks.
- Performing as-built surveys through laser scanning and modelling of point clouds.
- Ensuring survey data is collected and recorded accurately, following project QA/QC standards.
- Operating survey equipment to the highest precision within a civils environment.
- Supporting engineers with setting out activities to ensure consistent approaches to surveying and engineering.
- Preparing survey reports, drawings, and data outputs for engineering and construction teams.
- Coordinating with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure alignment between construction programme and survey operations.
- Assisting with the implementation of quality control procedures, particularly in accordance with QC1 requirements; maintaining the highest standards of traceability, tolerances, and reporting.
- Managing and archiving survey files and records to support project compliance and audits, using the Projects Document Management system.
- Attending daily briefings and providing updates on survey progress and issues.
- Ensuring all surveying works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Supporting other surveying work packages as required.

What do you bring to the role?
Essential:
- Degree, diploma, or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or Construction.
- Experience in surveying and construction industries.
- Considerable years of experience in a similar surveying position on a civil engineering project.
- Experience with surveying equipment; total stations, GPS/GNSS, and laser scanners.
- Survey data processing software; AutoCAD Civil 3D, Leica Infinity, Leica Cyclone, and Leica 3DR.
- Understanding of QC1 procedures and quality documentation in a civils context.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- CSCS Card and relevant site safety qualifications.
- Member of the CinstCES (or technical member working towards full member), or another body.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience working on major infrastructure or utilities projects (e.g., highways, rail, water, energy, nuclear).
- Knowledge of BIM or digital construction processes.
- First aid and additional safety training certifications.
