KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland. BAM UK & Ireland's infrastructure segment is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking a Survey CAD Modelling Technician. This role focuses on supporting the survey engineers by processing raw data gathered from site surveys and completing survey modelling requests, with a particular focus on processing laser scanner surveys.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience operating 2D and 3D CAD programmes, and an understanding of surveying and the construction industry. Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks will be required; a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and who have been UK residents for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Contract: Permanent, 42.5 hours a week

In this role, you will be working in a live MOD facility:

  • Verify and process survey data from field surveyors.
  • Process total station surveys to report on construction stages.
  • Process laser scanning surveys.
  • Clean and model surveys to determine if construction tolerances have been met.
  • Ensure survey data is collected and recorded accurately, following project QA/QC standards.
  • Provide drawing and modelling services from survey or design data to support the survey, engineering and construction teams.
  • Assist with the implementation of quality control procedures, particularly in accordance with QC1 requirements.
  • Manage and archive survey files and records to support project compliance and audits, using the Projects Document Management system.

From time to time, you may be required by the Company to perform other tasks, which are not included in the above description, but are within your capabilities, and where necessary, training and full support will be given.

Qualifications:

  • Degree, diploma, or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Architecture, or Construction.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD (Civil3D) and Revit.
  • Considerable years of experience in a similar position within the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of BIM or digital construction processes.
  • Understanding of document control and reporting requirements.
  • CSCS Card and relevant site safety qualifications.
  • Site based role; hybrid or home based role will be considered.
  • Experience with survey processing software; Leica Infinity/Leica Cyclone 3D.
  • Familiarity with survey equipment; understanding of QC1 procedures and quality documentation in a civils context.
