KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland. BAM UK & Ireland's infrastructure segment is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and is seeking a Sub Agent to join the Water Retain Barrier (WRB) Team. Due to the site being a high-security military naval base, additional security checks will be required; a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. These checks can take up to 8 weeks to process. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and who have been UK residents for the last 5 years can be considered for this role.

Making Possible
As a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for the following:
- Communicating effectively at all levels including site management, technical specialists, commercial staff, planners, engineers, supervisory staff operatives, suppliers, third parties and client representatives.
- Maintaining high personal standards and behaviour in health and safety, environmental and supporting others in the same.
- Leading, supervising and mentoring your reportees and other team members.
- Monitoring and recording delivery against the agreed programme and construction methods, identifying shortfalls and devising mitigation to minimise programme impacts.
- Maintaining good working relations with client, delivery teams, support teams, supply chain and others.
- Assisting with the monthly and quarterly commercial forecast and reporting for your areas of project.
- Ensuring sufficient resources (labour, plant, materials and subcontractors) are procured and available in sufficient time to deliver the activities within your area of responsibility.
- Managing the engineering team to ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before work commences.
- Reviewing and ensuring that Inspection and Test Plans and checklist are in place and being followed.
- Reviewing the daily diary records under your supervision to ensure a high standard of record keeping is being maintained.
- Reviewing, authorising and ensuring written risk assessments and activity plans/method statements are in place prior to works commencing for all activities within your area of responsibility.
- Devising site processes for maintaining records in line with client and KBJV requirements and ensuring these are followed by other members of the team.
- Management of subcontractors.
- Supporting the agent as required in operating the cost management system, the production of programmes and QF preparation.
- Communicating with commercial staff to ensure all records for measurement and payment purposes are prepared promptly, in appropriate form.
- Adopting and promoting the use of BIM technologies to deliver the requirements of the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Communicating with general foreman to ensure adequate work preparation and resources availability.
- Reviewing with the agent regularly the performance, development and training needs of subordinate staff, including underperformance or potential resignations.
- From time to time, you may be required by the Company to perform other tasks, which are not included in the above description, but are within your capabilities and, where necessary, training, and full support will be given.
What do you bring to the role?
Essential:
- Degree, HND, HNC, NVQ in Construction/Engineering/Logistics or equivalent.
- Proven track record in delivering construction/civils/logistics operations.
- CSCS Level - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager.
- SMSTS/SSSTS.
- Management skills (control and management of employees).
- Commercially aware with excellent organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and customer focused.
